Community Engagement

Community mapping enables people to capture the power of place and the potential for change. Citizens of all ages can be involved in mapping their community, economic and environmental assets and creating maps of their communities and visions for change.

For five years Charles has worked with and lead the Common Ground Mapping project (wwww.commongroundproject.ca) which produced community maps for over a dozen local neighbourhoods and community groups. Charles now works with UVic students through the UVic Community Mapping Centre (mapping.uvic.ca) to facilitate experimental learning opportunities around the theme of community mapping and visioning projects.
